Here are the forecasts for this weekend's race events:
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series - Indianapolis, IN (ORP) on Friday (7/23) at 7:30 p.m. ET on SPEED. It's going to be a typical summer day in Indianapolis on Friday - hazy, hot, and humid! Look for the afternoon temperature to max out close to 95 degrees. When you factor in the heat index, it will be closer to 102. Simply due to the heat and humidity, an isolated shower or storm may pop up. At race time the temperature will be around 92 degrees. **There is a Heat Advisory for Indianapolis on Friday until 7 p.m.**
NASCAR Nationwide Series - Indianapolis, IN (ORP) on Saturday (7/24) at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. An upper level low and related front will move in on Saturday. Partly cloudy, hot, and humid conditions are still on tap though, however there is a 40% chance a shower or storm. The high will top out in the lower 90's once again. At race time, the temperature will be around 90 under mostly cloudy skies.
NASCAR Sprint Cup - Indianapolis, IN on Sunday (7/25) at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN. It will be warm and muggy for qualifying Saturday morning. The temperature will be in the lower 80's under partly cloudy skies. For race day, it looks like there will be some relief from the heat as temperatures climb into the upper 80's. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, but there is still a 40% chance of a shower or storm as a front lingers near the area. At the green flag the temperature will be near 85 degrees.
IZOD IndyCar Series - Edmonton, Canada on Sunday (7/25) at 5 p.m. ET on VERSUS. The weather in Edmonton looks fantastic for the IndyCar weekend! On Saturday, look for sunshine during qualifying with a temperature near 80 degrees. The nice weather continues into Sunday with sunshine and a temperature very comfortable near 78 at the green flag.
American Le Mans Series - Lakeville, CT on Saturday (7/24) at 2 p.m. ET on SPEED. Clouds will be on the increase Friday ahead of an approaching warm front. There is a chance of showers and storms after 2 p.m., and the high temperature will be around 80 degrees. On race day, it will be warmer with a mix of sun and clouds. The threat of showers and storms continues. At the green flag, the temperature will be around 89 degrees.
