Race season is starting up again this weekend with the Rolex 24 at Daytona!  You can watch coverage on SPEED starting at 3 p.m. Saturday (1/30) and 7 a.m. Sunday (1/31).  I will break down the forecast by day.

Thursday (qualifying):  sunshine along with a few clouds.  Mild with an afternoon high in the upper 60's; around 68 degrees.

Friday (practice & Continental Tire Challenge):  high pressure starts to move off the coast, but it will still be a nice day with mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures.  It will climb into the lower 70's with an afternoon high near 72 degrees.

Saturday (race start):  low pressure and a cold front will move through the region.  Skies will become mostly cloudy, and it will be breezy.  At this point, it looks like there will be a chance of scattered rain from the early afternoon through the evening.  Thunder is possible.  Temperatures will top out around 76 degrees in the afternoon before dropping back around 60 at midnight under mostly cloudy skies.

Sunday (race finish):  it will be breezy overnight into Sunday morning as the front moves away.  Temperatures will dip close to 50 in the early morning hours right before sunrise.  Clouds will decrease, and it will be much cooler as temperatures struggle to climb into the lower 60's in the afternoon despite sunshine.
