A tornado tore through Tuscaloosa, Alabama where Queen Shenandoah Designate Caitlin Brunell goes to college at the University of Alabama.

Caitlin saw that tornado. She says, she was on the 14th floor of her dorm when an intercom announcement came on saying the tornado was approaching. Caitlin says she looked outside and saw the body of the tornado which was about a mile wide. She says it was on top of the stadium which is right next to her dorm.

The campus was on lock down which delayed Caitlin's arrival in Winchester. "Just seeing the videos and the pictures of the town that I go to school at, it's devastating. Some buildings are flat there are things everywhere, people have died, it's just been devastating," says Brunell.

Caitlin says she was excited to see the sun shining when she arrived in Winchester Thursday morning. She says she is so excited and honored to be Queen Shenandoah Designate. On Thursday Caitlin started her Apple Blossom duties with rehearsal for the coronation.
