One of the biggest events of The Bloom was a huge hit Saturday, The Grand Feature Parade!
"I'm 60 years old. I got friends that don't come home for Christmas but they come home for Apple Blossom. It's 75,000 people having a good time. It really is," said Jim Gibson and Larry Dawson.
Jim Gibson and Larry Dawson would know. They've been coming to the Apple Blossom Festival and Grand Feature Parade in particular for 57 and 46 years respectively.
But as expected there were folks at this year's Grand Feature Parade from all over the place.
"Well my sister and brother-in-law have a home here and these are our friends. We're from Lake Villa, Illinois which is north of Chicago and they said you have to come to the Apple Blossom Festival.
It was a 702 mile trip -- about an eleven hour drive. But a drive that she says was well worth it.
"It's been a lot of fun. Real exciting. The floats, the people in the parade, everything. It's a lot of fun."
The Grand Marshal Mario Lopez made his appearance at Apple Blossom --
"I really like Mario Lopez."
Did you scream at him?
"Yes, and he waved back. He's very nice.
"And some are already thinking ahead to next year."
"I want Rod Stewart next year. Please."
In the end -- everyone enjoyed one of the biggest events of The Bloom celebrating all Winchester has to offer.
